MORTGAGE MEDIATION & FORECLOSURE INTERVENTION This program is designed to assist delinquent homeowners and those facing foreclosure through mediation, default counseling and loss mitigation. ULSC’s HUD certified counselors work with homeowners and lenders to modify mortgages and reach an outcome that keeps families in their homes and communities thriving at no cost. PRE-PURCHASE HOMEBUYER WORKSHOP This 8 hour homebuyer workshop prepares potential owners with the tools and resources needed to be responsible buyers by understanding the buying process, the importance of budgeting and money management practices. This helps to prevent fraudulent and predatory lending practices. The workshop is taught by certified housing counselors recognized by the National Industry Standards for home-ownership-education and Counseling. Counselors receive training annually to stay current with relevant state and federal laws.
POST-PURCHASE EDUCATION Continuous homeownership education and counseling is vital to successful long-term home-ownership. Sustainable home-ownership measures equip homeowners with the knowledge and skills they need to build and maintain the value of their investment for the long term through home maintenance and insurance protection, they also act as preventive measures against foreclosure, delinquency and refinancing scams.
